Our Story

The Story Behind Thompson Tales

Thompson Tales Publishing™ began, as many family stories do, around moments shared together. What started as imaginative bedtime adventures for grandchildren gradually grew into something much larger, a desire to preserve those stories, expand them, and share them with other families who value curiosity, character, and meaningful time together.

Along the way, years of professional experience in business, technical writing, editing, design, research, and creative development came together with a shared love of storytelling. What was once intended as a single family keepsake gradually evolved into an independent publishing company dedicated to creating books, educational resources, and theatrical works that inspire readers of all ages.

Thomas N. Thompson

Co-author & Master Storyteller

Thomas N. Thompson is co-author of Legend of the Thompson Goldbloods and co-founder of Thompson Tales Publishing, a family-owned publishing company dedicated to adventure, character, and stories that bring generations together. As the oldest of five siblings raised in rural Minnesota, Thomas developed a lifelong appreciation for creativity, humor, curiosity, and hard work, qualities that would later shape both his entrepreneurial career and his approach to storytelling.

After spending fifteen years in corporate management, Thomas founded and successfully operated his own businesses, where he built a reputation for leadership, innovation, and practical problem-solving. Yet his greatest inspiration has always been family. The imaginative stories he shared with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren gradually evolved into Legend of the Thompson Goldbloods and an expanding collection of books, educational resources, theatrical adaptations, and family-centered adventures.

What began as a private story written as a gift for his grandchildren eventually grew into Thompson Tales Publishing, whose mission is to create stories that spark curiosity, strengthen family connections, encourage learning, and celebrate the timeless values of integrity, perseverance, kindness, and imagination.

Today, Thomas serves as Community Outreach Ambassador for Thompson Tales Publishing, representing the company through school visits, author events, theatrical partnerships, community presentations, and educational outreach. In retirement, he also enjoys spending time with family, assisting at his son's business, SweetSauce Printing, and traveling regularly to Montana in search of gold, mountain landscapes, and fresh inspiration for future adventures.

Christine M. Thompson

Christine M. Thompson

Co-author & Creative Architect

Christine Thompson is the co-author of Legend of the Thompson Goldbloods and serves as the technical and creative development specialist for Thompson Tales Publishing. She manages project development, editing, visual design, and strategic planning. Along with her brother and co-author, Thomas Thompson, she also oversees the continued expansion of the Goldbloods publishing, educational, and theatrical programs.

Her professional background combines technical precision with creative storytelling. She spent many years as a technical writer and editor supporting engineers, multidisciplinary project teams, graduate researchers, and independent authors. Her experience in First Responder environments further strengthened the qualities that now shape her work: clear communication, thoughtful problem-solving, emotional resilience, and a deep respect for the human stories that connect communities.

In addition to her publishing work, Christine helps her husband manage his family ranch and mining properties in Montana and operate CE Stone Creations, creating handcrafted stone heirlooms from remarkable geologic materials collected throughout North America.

Whether creating books, educational resources, theatrical works, or artisan stonework, Christine believes the most enduring legacies are built through stewardship, family, and the stories we pass from one generation to the next.

Behind the Books

The Inspiration Behind Our Stories

Every Thompson Tales collection has its own unique origin story. For Legend of the Thompson Goldbloods, that story began when Thomas journeyed with his sister, Christine, into the North Moccasin Mountains of Central Montana. There, a visit to historic Iron Gulch and the Northern Frost Gold Mine, owned by Christine's husband's family, sparked an adventure that would grow far beyond its original telling.

Inspired by real family experiences, the story's central characters were lovingly based on Thomas's own family, his son Ryan, daughter-in-law Kimberly, and grandchildren Emma, Brooklyn, and Christopher, whose personalities, imaginations, and shared adventures became the heart of the Goldbloods family. Combined with months of research, exploration of the North Moccasin Mountains, and a deep appreciation for Montana's mining heritage, those experiences gradually evolved into the flagship collection that launched Thompson Tales Publishing™.

As new Thompson Tales collections are published, we'll continue sharing the real people, places, and experiences that inspired them. We hope these stories not only deepen your appreciation for our books, but also encourage you to celebrate your own family's history, traditions, and legacy, and perhaps inspire a few adventures of your own.
